We wax chains with the biodegradable wax from RSP – a clear advantage over classic lubricants, both for your drivetrain and for the environment. What you get: a clean drivetrain (no more black gunk on your calves, trousers and frame), noticeably less wear on chain, cassette and chainrings, more efficient power transfer and a significantly quieter ride. Especially worthwhile for road and gravel bikes, but equally valuable for MTBs and e-bikes that rack up serious mileage. Pricing: waxing a brand-new chain costs CHF 15. If you bring in an already-ridden chain, the drivetrain has to be thoroughly cleaned and degreased before waxing – we bill that preparation work by time spent at our workshop rate of CHF 120/h (in 15-minute increments).
